TickTickTrader

TickTick Trader is a well-regarded prop trading firm, popular for their original approach and dedication to their traders. Traders partnering with the firm are required to complete a set of challenges, which if they succeed in will make them eligible for a funded account. Rest assured that you will be fully supported by TTT as you progress through these challenges.

TickTick Trader don’t impose any minimum trading day requirement, and traders receive free licences for both Bookmap and Jigsaw DayTradr. Traders are given access to up to $100,000 in capital and retain 90% of the profits they generate.

In this analysis of TickTick Trader, we look at all the details of how the firm operates, their key offerings, and whether they meet expectations.

Set up by a team of seasoned traders, with roots in the industry dating back to 2004, TickTick Trader emerged in response to the challenges encountered with traditional prop trading firms and platforms. The founders’ personal experiences inspired the creation of a platform tailored to address the evolving needs of a new set of futures traders.

Central to the firm’s ethos is a spirit of collaboration and support, contrasting favourably to practices of exploitation and manipulation common elsewhere in the industry. The founders are committed to empowering traders in achieving their goals, in the knowledge that a company’s success is intricately linked to the success of its traders. TickTick Trader distinguishes itself as an innovative player in the prop trading industry, with a technologically advanced platform, straightforward approach, and dedication to seeing their traders succeed.

The firm offers Evaluation Accounts with three levels (Starter, Advanced and Pro) as well as a special Express Plan; or alternatively Direct Accounts (also with three sizes), meaning there’s an account to cater to every trader, whatever your budget and preferred trading style.

  • Evaluation Accounts are an entry-level account for traders setting out on their trading journey
  • Express Plan is a special evaluation account designed for active, uncompromising traders
  • Direct Accounts allow traders to skip the evaluation and start trading immediately

The platform is set up to be both easy to use and explicit from the start about what rules you need to follow. Customer service is a priority, provided in a variety of languages. The founders have also been keen to state that traders won’t be hampered by minimum trading day requirements. Furthermore, payments are swift and secure. All this allows traders to concentrate their efforts on one important goal: trading profitably.

TickTick Trader makes a highly convincing option for futures traders for a few key reasons. To begin with, the evaluation process is easy to get to grips with. Secondly, the company is well-regarded for their consistent payouts – in contrast to some other prop trading firms out there!

Another noteworthy advantage is the number of account options on offer, designed to accommodate various trading preferences. The firm’s approachable and helpful customer service further highlights their emphasis on efficacy and transparency.

The trading experience is elevated by the wealth of analytical tools TickTick Trader provides, including licenses for Bookmap and Jigsaw Trader. In short, the firm’s original approach and commitment to seeing their traders succeed position them as the perfect answer for those searching for their first – or next – futures trading platform.

Becoming a funded trader with Tick Tick Trader starts with an evaluation process, after which you progress to a TTTPerformance Account.  Evaluation Accounts
Tick Tick Trader’s Evaluation Accounts consist of three levels: Starter, Advanced and Pro. On these accounts, traders prove their trading prowess, demonstrating that they can trade profitably and consistently for the duration of the evaluation. Successful completion of this phase makes traders eligible for funding.

The Starter account is tailored for those in the early stages of their careers, offering a comparatively small $25,000 in capital, with a $1,500 profit target and constraints on daily losses and positions. The TTT Advanced and Professional accounts provide increasingly more capital, with higher profit targets offset by increased flexibility in trading positions. These accounts are suited respectively to intermediate traders with a reasonable amount of experience, and professional traders – as the name implies. The prop firm is widely acknowledged for their swift payouts and transparent operation.

The Evaluation accounts are further enriched by a diverse range of software options and trading instruments, meaning they can cater to traders of all levels of experience.

Express Plan
The Express Plan is a unique Evaluation account, targeted at active, uncompromising traders who can manage up to 14 contracts at once. Unlike the typical monthly pricing charged for most accounts (spanning $145 per month through to $699), the Express Plan costs $99 for a 15-day duration.

With a $6,000 profit target and a safeguard in place through the $3,500 drawdown limit, this framework appears designed to motivate traders to maximise their returns while also staying aware of potential risks.

Direct Accounts
TickTickTrader’s Direct Accounts offer traders the opportunity to bypass the evaluation phase and start trading straight away with a TTTPerformance Account. These three Direct Accounts come in the following sizes:

  • $10K Direct Swing
  • $25K Direct
  • $50K Direct

Each account, in addition to having its own pricing, comes with its own set of trading rules. These encompass daily loss and drawdown limits, as well as the number of trading positions that can be held at once. Traders decide which plan best meets their needs, complete the registration process, and then create a platform connection to get started with trading.

End Of the Day Drawdown

Drawdown is calculated at the end of each day and stays the same throughout the entire day. Should the investment balance reach and exceed the predetermined drawdown limit, the investment will be liquidated.

Daily Loss Limit

The Daily Loss Limit represents the highest amount a trader can lose within a single trading day, acting as a risk management measure to limit potential losses for a trading account. Typically determined by the available trading capital, once the limit is reached, your account will be liquidated. See the table below for the specific Daily Loss Limits for each plan:

Overnight Positions

All trading potions must be closed by the conclusion of the trading day, including overnight positions. Failing to comply with this rule will result in a trader having their account disqualified.

Scaling Plan

TickTickTrader’s Scaling System imposes a limit on the number of contracts traders are allowed to open. Traders are required to align their contract numbers with their account balance, covering both active and closed positions. Breaking this rule results in a warning and possibly even account termination. It is therefore very important that traders always monitor their account balance and associated risk, ensuring that they are complying with the rules. Ideally, traders should strive for a profit margin that surpasses their intended contract size, thereby accommodating their trading activities.

Below is an exemple of the scaling system in $100K pro account:

Account Balance

Max Contracts E-Mini

$100,000 – $102,100

3

$102,101 – $105,100

6

10

Note: 1 E-Mini contract = 10 Micros

TickTick Trader specialises in funding futures trading. Traders can trade CME (CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX) futures assets, including the Micros. The following instruments can be traded:

  • Equity futures
  • Foreign exchange futures
  • Agricultural futures
  • Energy futures
  • Interest rate futures
  • Metals futures

The trading account functions without leverage, with the account balance serving as the buying power (i.e. the leverage ratio is effectively 1:1). The maximum number of contracts permitted for trading is determined by the combination of your account size and profit, thereby setting your trading limits.

TickTick Trader’s payouts are attractive when compared to the competition. Traders who successfully complete the evaluation stage and qualify for funding move to a TTTPerformance Account, where they are paid a portion of the profits they generate, with the prop firm retaining a modest sum. Payout structures vary according to account type, with the ins and outs detailed in the trader agreement that traders receive when they complete the evaluation.

Once you’re trading with a TTTPerformance account, you will receive your payments directly. You can request your initial payout once you surpass the account’s safety threshold and have traded for a minimum of 40 trading days (not calendar days).

Withdrawal requests can be made at any point during the month and are processed within five business days. While there is a minimum withdrawal amount ($1,000), there is no maximum limit, so long as the safety threshold is maintained. The withdrawal safety threshold reserve is dependent on the account size and is the minimum balance you need to keep making withdrawals from your account.

TTTPerformance traders have the advantage of trading for their first three months without any commission charged on their profits. Subsequently, the profit split is 90/10. We strongly recommend that traders fully grasp the intricacies of the payout structure before enrolling with Tick Tick Trader. Traders should also note that they bear the responsibility for paying their own taxes.
