ABC News has agreed to pay $15 million to Donald Trump’s presidential library to settle a lawsuit over comments made by anchor George Stephanopoulos. The lawsuit, filed in March, alleged that Stephanopoulos made false and malicious statements during a March 10 interview, claiming Trump was found liable for rape, which were widely disseminated.
As part of the settlement, ABC News must publish a statement by Sunday on its website expressing regret for the remarks made during the interview with Rep. Nancy Mace. Both parties have agreed to dismiss the lawsuit following the settlement.
